01
Who We Are
- DHT is an Egyptian company specialized in hosting, web design and development services, officially registered and a member of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (Cit).
- Address: 88 Abd El Salam Aref St., Gleem — Alexandria, Arab Republic of Egypt.
- For privacy and data protection inquiries: [email protected] or [email protected].
- We act as the "Data Controller" as defined under the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law with respect to your data that we collect in providing our services.
02
Scope of This Policy
- This policy applies to all services we provide, including shared, cloud, business and reseller hosting, web design and development services, email services, the client area, and any other services we provide now or in the future.
- When providing hosting services, we process data as a "Data Processor" on behalf of our clients within the scope of providing the service, while the client remains the controller of the content and data hosted on their accounts.
- When you use websites we host on behalf of our clients, the website owner's privacy policy — not this one — governs the processing of your data, and we do not control that processing.
03
Personal Data We Collect
- Account data: full name, email address, phone number, billing address, and login credentials (username and encrypted password).
- Payment data: payment details, the payment method used (card, InstaPay, Vodafone Cash, bank transfer) and invoice history, without storing full card data on our systems.
- Communication and support data: the content of tickets, emails and live chat conversations, and any files you attach.
- Technical usage data: IP address, server logs, browser data, and cookies required to operate the website and client area.
- Newsletter data: your email address only when you subscribe to our newsletter, with the ability to unsubscribe at any time.
- We do not collect sensitive data (such as health or biometric data) unless necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested.
04
Purposes and Legal Basis of Processing
- Contract performance: activating and managing the hosting, web design and development services you request, processing invoices and payments, and managing your client area and control panel.
- Legal compliance: fulfilling our obligations under the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020, the Anti-Cybercrime Law No. 175 of 2018, and tax and record-keeping laws.
- Legitimate interest: improving service quality and network performance, preventing fraud and abuse, and protecting the security and integrity of our platforms, servers and client data.
- Consent: where we process data based on your consent (such as the newsletter), we obtain your explicit consent and you may withdraw it at any time.
- Storing client data and their control panels is the core of the hosting service we provide; it is processed and stored on our servers to perform the contract concluded with the client and with their explicit consent at the time of subscription.
05
Our Clients' Data and Control Panels
- Each client has their own control panel (the client area and hosting management panels such as cPanel) containing their account data, services and invoices — this data belongs to the client and is shown only to them; we do not share it with any other party.
- We store client account data and the content they host on our servers to perform the contracted service. The client remains responsible for the content they upload and is required to apply this policy to their users' and visitors' data in accordance with the law.
- Clients may at any time view, edit, download and export their data from the client area, and may request its deletion under the terms of this policy.
- Only our authorized employees may access client data, under strict access-control policies, for technical support and service operation purposes.
06
Who We Share Your Data With
- Payment providers: to process payments and issue refunds; we share only the data required to complete the transaction.
- Technical service providers (hosting/infrastructure): data centers and infrastructure providers we contract with to operate the service, under agreements that ensure confidentiality and protection of data.
- Support and marketing tool providers: the ticketing, email and analytics tools we use to manage your account and service.
- Government authorities: we only share your data when legally required, based on a judicial order or a decision of the competent authorities under Egyptian law.
- We never sell your personal data to any third party, and we do not share it for third-party marketing purposes without your consent.
07
Transfer Outside Egypt
- Our clients' data may be stored and processed within or outside the Arab Republic of Egypt, in accordance with the published service specifications and the infrastructure used.
- When we use services or servers outside Egypt (such as backups or infrastructure for certain services), we ensure that any transfer is made to countries providing adequate protection of personal data, or under contractual safeguards equivalent to the protection provided by the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020, or under any other case permitted by law.
- We will notify you of any material transfer of your data outside Egypt through an updated policy or direct communication.
08
Cookies and Similar Technologies

- We use functional cookies to improve your experience and remember your choices.
- We do not use advertising tracking cookies across other websites without your consent.
- You may disable cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the website or client area may not function correctly afterwards.
09
Data Retention
- We retain your account and services data for the duration of your contract with us, and for no longer than required to perform the contract and fulfil legal obligations (such as tax records and record-keeping requirements under Egyptian law).
- Backups are deleted according to the retention cycle described in our Service Level Agreement, then permanently removed from our systems.
- After contract termination or a deletion request, we delete your personal data or anonymize it in a way that no longer identifies you, unless the law requires us to retain it.
- Server logs are retained only for as long as necessary for security and fault diagnosis, then deleted.
10
Data Security
- We take appropriate organizational and technical measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction or loss, including encryption, access controls and monitoring.
- We create periodic backups of service data on separate servers as described in the Service Level Agreement.
- In the event of a personal data breach that may create a risk to your rights, we will notify the competent authorities (the Egyptian Center for Personal Data Protection) and notify you without undue delay, as required by Law No. 151 of 2020 and its executive regulations.
- No security method on the Internet is 100% guaranteed; we therefore recommend that you keep your passwords confidential and enable all available security measures.
11
